New Memoir Shows How Loss Can Lead to God
Jennifer C.D.Wilford Shares Life Story in Inspirational New Memoir

DALLAS –
At some point in our lives, most of us will have to cope with the death of one or both
parents. Sometimes, the loss may be expected; other times it may come out of nowhere. But rarely
do we have to cope with losing both parents within close proximity of one another. In her
compelling new memoir, Blessed: Therapy: A True Story
(published by Author House), Jennifer
Cheniere Dixon Wilford shares the experience of losing her mother and father within 10 months of
each other and candidly discusses how it irrevocably changed her attitude, lifestyle and beliefs.

Up until 2008, Jennifer had lived what she refers to as an “alternative lifestyle,” battling with her
sexuality almost daily and exclusively dating women. Then, to her family’s shock, her mother,
Carolyn, was diagnosed with terminal gallbladder cancer and died three weeks later. Still
recovering from her father’s passing from congestive heart failure just ten months prior, Jennifer
turned to God, determined to strengthen her faith and follow God’s instructions to help her through
this rough time.

“My mother taught me at an early age that any time you want something in your life to prosper,
you must keep God first,” Jennifer writes. “I have always considered it to be a blessing to be able
to help others with their problems by simply listening to them and telling them about the changes
that I have been through in my life. It helped them, but it was my therapy.”

After living a lesbian lifestyle for nearly 20 years, Jennifer made the life-changing decision to walk
away and dedicate her life back to Christ. She writes honestly about what a difficult road it was,
but says “there is no situation I can’t overcome, as long as God is with me. I’ve learned in life that
you will always fear what you don’t know.
This time, I turned fear into faith and I let God lead the way.”

Heartfelt and honest, Blessed: Therapy: A True Story could serve as a guiding force for anyone
coping with the loss of a parent or struggling with their sexuality. Follow Jennifer on an incredible
journey in the pages of this uplifting book.
